Ingredients
- 12 bread slices
- 1 onion
- 3 potatoes
- 1 inch piece ginger
- 1 tomato
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- A few curry leaves
- A few coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes and mash them.
- Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
- When the mustard seeds crackle, add chopped onions, curry leaves and chopped ginger.
- Fry till the onions turn golden brown.
- Now add the chopped tomatoes along with salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder.
- Saute for a few minutes and mix the mashed potatoes with this mixture along with chopped coriander leaves.
- Fry this for a few minutes, remove and keep aside.
- Apply this mixture to the bread slices and toast it.
- Serve aloo masala sandwich hot as a breakfast or snack dish with tomato ketchup.
