Aloo Masala Sandwich (Potato Sandwich)

This is an Indian aloo masala sandwich recipe . Mashed potatoes spiced with masalas and used as a filling for sandwich. This can be served as a breakfast or snack dish.

a spicy potato sandwich recipe.

Ingredients

  • 12 bread slices
  • 1 onion
  • 3 potatoes
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • A few curry leaves
  • A few coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes and mash them.
  2. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
  3. When the mustard seeds crackle, add chopped onions, curry leaves and chopped ginger.
  4. Fry till the onions turn golden brown.
  5. Now add the chopped tomatoes along with salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder.
  6. Saute for a few minutes and mix the mashed potatoes with this mixture along with chopped coriander leaves.
  7. Fry this for a few minutes, remove and keep aside.
  8. Apply this mixture to the bread slices and toast it.
  9. Serve aloo masala sandwich hot as a breakfast or snack dish with tomato ketchup.
