Aloo Paratha

Think of stuffed parthas and the one that comes to mind is the aloo paratha. It is a very popular North Indian breakfast dish that is very filling. You don’t need any side dish for this paratha and it tastes yummy.

A delicious North Indian whole wheat flat bread with stuffed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 3 medium-sized potatoes
  • 2 green chillies
  • A few coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup wheat flour ( atta )

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes, peel and mash them.
  2. Chop the green chillies and coriander leaves finely.
  3. Add these to the mashed potatoes along with salt and ginger paste.
  4. Mix well and keep aside for the filling.
  5. Knead the wheat flour with water to a soft dough.
  6. Make a small ball of the dough. Roll it into a small disc and place a little of the potato filling inside.
  7. Enclose the filling with the dough disc and flatten it with a rolling pin.
  8. Heat a tava. Place the paratha on the tava and let it cook on both sides by spreading oil on the paratha.
  9. Serve aloo paratha hot with butter or yogurt.
