Some recipes require you to use shelled almonds, which means you would have to remove the outer skin of almonds. Even when making almond flour, you would need to peel the almond skins. The fast and easy way to do this is to blanch the almonds. Here are the steps to blanch almonds.

Let this rest for around 2 minutes

Then transfer the nuts into a colander

Rinse the almonds in cold, running water, to cool them

Now rub an almond between your forefinger and thumb and the almond will pop out of its skin

Repeat this process for all the almonds to remove the skin

Place the almonds on a paper towel to remove the moisture from the nuts

Allow the almonds to dry and then use them in your recipe
