Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped methi leaves ( fenugreek leaves / vendhaya keerai )
- 1 potato large
- 2 slit green chillies
- 1 cup yogurt ( dahi / curd )
- 1 onion
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds ( saunf / sombu )
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder ( jeera powder )
- 2 tsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Boil the potato and chop into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and fennel seeds.
- Add chopped onions and green chillies when the mustard crackles.
- Once the onions turn soft, add chopped methi leaves, cooked potato, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and cumin powder along with a little water.
- Cook for some time and remove from stove.
- Once it cools down a little, add the yogurt and mix well.
- Methi yogurt curry is ready to be served with rice or rotis.
