Which fruit is bright red in color and with a juicy texture? Yes, it is strawberry.

On an average, there are around 200 seeds in every strawberry. Strawberries are the only fruits with seeds on the outside. So they do not fall under the classification of true berries since berries like cranberries and blueberries have seeds inside.

Now for some history. Charles V, of France during fourteenth-century, ordered twelve hundred strawberry plants to be grown in the Royal Gardens of the Louvre.

On the nutrition side, strawberries are low in calories. They are a good source of folic acid, vitamin C and fiber.

Strawberries are eaten fresh. Who can resist strawberry-flavored ice-cream, milkshake and yoghurt..yumm.. One popular dessert is Strawberries and Cream which are consumed at Wimbledon.
