This is a simple South Indian preparation of broad beans / avarakkai. It goes well as a side dish for rice and can also be had with rotis.

a simple broad beans dry curry recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped avarakkai (broad beans)
- 1 onion
- 2 dry red chillies
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- A few curry leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Slice the onions. Chop avarakkai and garlic.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and red chillies.
- When the mustard seeds crackle, add the urad dal and curry leaves.
- Now add the sliced onions and garlic.
- Once the onions turn soft, add the chopped avarakkai, salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder.
- Add enough water to cook the avarakkai.
- Once the avarakkai gets cooked and dried, remove and serve hot with rice.
