Matar Mushroom Fry – an easy stir fry recipe using green peas and mushrooms. This simple stir fry is lightly spiced with Indian spices.
I have used fresh green peas that I was able to get hold of. Shelling the peas from their pods takes some time but it looks so fresh that I don’t really mind it. But at other times when peas are not in season, I use frozen peas which takes even lesser time to prepare.
Coming to the recipe, I love sabzis that can be prepared quickly and this stir fry falls in that category.
Mushrooms and peas make for a delicious combination with the peas adding a sweet flavor to every bite and the mushrooms soaking up all the spices.
Both mushrooms and green peas are also healthy ingredients. Green peas are rich in vitamin C and dietary fiber while mushrooms are a great source of proteins. I have used button mushrooms in this recipe. This delicious stir fry goes well with rotis / chapathis or rice.
