There was one raw banana available and I decided on making this easy and tasty curry. There are no strong masalas used for this recipe and it gets done in a jiffy. Its a South Indian recipe and goes well as an accompaniment to rice and kuzhambu.

Easy grated raw banana stir fry recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 vazhakkai ( raw banana )
- 1 onion
- 2 red chillies
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- A pinch of asafoetida ( hing )
- A few curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Slice onions.
- Cut the raw banana into two halves and boil them in water till they turn soft.
- Once done, let them cool and then remove the skin of the bananas.
- Now grate them and keep aside.
- In a pan, heat oil. Add red chillies, mustard seeds and asafoetida.
- When the mustard seeds crackle, add the urad dal and curry leaves.
- Once the dal turns brown, add the onions. Fry till the onions become translucent. Now add the turmeric powder.
- Then add the grated raw banana and salt.
- Let this fry for a few minutes. Since its already boiled, you don’t need to fry it much.
- Remove from heat and serve vazhakkai podimas hot as a side dish for rice.
