In India, we have a variety of sweets available and in Kerala, they prepare a variety of halwas with fruits and dry fruits. I decided to make the banana halwa with some bananas which were fully ripe. It tastes very good.

a delicious dessert using ripe bananas and ghee.
Ingredients
- 5 small ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 5 tsp ghee
- A few cashew nuts for garnishing
Instructions
- Mash the bananas.
- Heat a non-stick pan and heat around 5 tsp ghee.
- Add the mashed bananas and fry this for about 15 minutes, making sure that you keep stirring the mixture frequently.
- Add the sugar and keep stirring frequently. Cook this for about 30 minutes till the mixture changes to brown color.
- If you feel that the mixture is sticking to the pan, you could 2 or 3 tsp of ghee to it while stirring.
- Grease a plate with ghee. Pour the mixture on the plate. Garnish with cashew nuts.
- Let the mixture cool, then cut it into squares or any desired shape and serve.
