For any special occasion and for festivals, the most common sweet dish prepared in an Indian home is rava kesari. Using semolina / suji as the main ingredient, this dish can be prepared very quickly and tastes really good with ghee liberally added to it.

Rava kesari bhath is a very popular dish in Karnataka and it is usually served along with the savory rava upma.
