Dahi aloo sabzi is a curry of potatoes in creamy spiced yogurt mixture. Its a very easy and quick dish that can be served with rotis or chapattis.

Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes
- 1 cup yogurt / dahi / curd
- 1 inch piece cinnamon
- 2 cloves
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds / saunf
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder / jeera powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Boil or pressure cook potatoes till they turn soft.
- Remove the skin of potatoes and chop into large chunks.
- Whisk yogurt till there are no lumps.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
- Add cinnamon and cloves and saute for a minute. Add mustard seeds.
- When mustard seeds splutter, add cumin seeds.
- Once cumin seeds crackle, add fennel seeds.
- Saute for a couple of seconds and then add boiled potatoes.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder.
- Fry for 4-5 minutes on medium flame.
- Then add the whisked yogurt along with a cup of water.
- Stir continuously till the gravy comes to a boil.
- Let the gravy cook till it reaches desired consistency and remove from heat.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve dahi aloo sabzi hot with rotis / chapattis / phulkas.
