This is one of the favorite lunch box menu item as it is a great comfort food. Have it with just pickle or any curry of your choice. Here I have served it with keerai masiyal

a South Indian seasoned yogurt rice.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 3/4 cup curd / yogurt
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 green chilli
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1 inch piece ginger
- A few curry leaves
- A few coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Cook the rice and cool it.
- In a bowl, mash the cooked rice and mix it with curd and salt.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, asafoetida.
- When mustard crackles, add chopped green chilli, chopped ginger and curry leaves.
- Add this seasoning to the rice.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Thayir sadam is ready to be served with pickle or any curry.
