An Indian style tangy potato and black chickpeas salad / snack recipe.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup kala chana / kondakadalai / black chickpeas
- 1/2 cup boiled and peeled chopped potatoes
- 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 tsp amchur / dry mango powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp chaat masala
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
- 2-3 tsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Soak black chickpeas overnight or for around 7-8 hours.
- Pressure cook with enough water for 4-5 whistles or until they turn soft.
- Drain the water and keep the chickpeas aside.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and green chillies.
- Saute till onions turn translucent.
- Add tomatoes, salt, chilli powder, amchur powder, garam masala and chaat masala. Mix well and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Add cooked potatoes and black chickpeas and mix well.
- Saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Add chopped coriander and lemon juice. Mix well.
- Aloo kala chana chaat is ready to be served warm!
