easy Indian style cauliflower fritters using chickpea flour.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup besan / chickpea flour / kadalai maavu
- 1 cup cauliflower florets
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp amchur powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Cut the cauliflower into florets. Boil the florets in water along with salt, till they turn tender.
- Drain the water and keep the florets aside.
- Mix turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, amchur powder and salt with besan in a bowl.
- Add water to make a batter that is neither too thick nor too thin.
- Mix the boiled florets in the batter.
- Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying the cauliflower fritters.
- When oil becomes hot, drop spoonfuls of batter to the oil.
- Fry till they turn golden-brown on both sides.
- Remove and drain the oil.
- Serve gobi pakora hot as a starter or with your evening tea / coffee.
