Radish egg stir fry / mullangi muttai poriyal recipe – an easy and simple stir fry using radish and eggs. This recipe has egg stir fried with grated radish and spices.
When looking for a quick side dish that is nutritious, I usually opt for a simple egg poriyal.
After using radish leaves for making radish greens poriyal, I decided to use up the radishes for making this radish egg poriyal or mooli egg bhurji. This stir fry with the combination of radish and eggs is delicious and you could never guess that it has radish.
This mullangi egg poriyal is easy and quick to make. It goes well with rice, chapathis / rotis and bread. I have used white radish to make it. This recipe is a great way to include some veggies along with eggs, especially ones like radish which we don’t usually prefer to make a sabzi with.

Radishes are a good source of vitamin C and dietary fiber while eggs are rich in proteins as well as a good source of vitamin D. Lets move on to the recipe for easy radish egg stir fry.
How to make Radish Egg Stir Fry step by step
- Firstly, whisk the eggs and set aside. Peel the radish and grate it. Finely chop onions, ginger and tomato. Slit the green chillies.
- Heat oil in a pan or kadai. Add asafoetida and mustard seeds. Once mustard seeds splutter, add finely chopped onions.
- Saute till onions turn soft and translucent. Then add slit green chilli, curry leaves and finely chopped ginger and fry for a minute.
- Then add finely chopped tomatoes.
- Fry for 2 minutes on medium flame till tomatoes turn soft.
- Now add the grated radish.
- Stir and add the spice powders along with salt.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes till the radish turns soft.
- Finally add the whisked eggs.
- Keep stirring till the eggs get scrambled and blend with the radish and spices.
- Stir till the eggs get cooked and then remove from heat.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Mullangi muttai poriyal is ready to be served.

Ingredients
- 1 cup grated radish ( mooli / mullangi )
- 3 eggs ( muttai / anda )
- 1 onion small
- 1 tomato small
- 1/2 tsp finely chopped ginger
- 1 green chilli
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- A pinch of asafoetida ( hing )
- A few curry leaves
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- 1 1/2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
